In line with increasing the efficiency of research facilities and equipment as well as improving the research capabilities of faculty members, researchers and artisans of food industry, the Research Institute of Science and Technology has established a central laboratory as one of the most important research centers in the field of food industry in the country. Thanks to its advanced equipment and adept staff who is experienced in conducting food research projects, this laboratory carries out various specialized tests on food and beverage including heavy metals analysis by atomic absorption spectrometry, mycotoxins determination with HPLC, fatty acid profiles determination, phytosterols, antioxidant capacities, dietary supplements including colors and physicochemical experiments.
This laboratory provides services based on the licenses obtained from the Iranian Food and Drug Administration, Iranian National Standard Organization (INSO) and the Iranian Department of Environment.
Inductively coupled plasma (ICP), atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GCMS), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ultra-violet spectrophotometry (UV-Vis), water activity (aw), BOD measurement are the most important equipment’s of this laboratory.
