Staff members of the Central Laboratory of the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology (RIFST) participated in the Second Grand Gathering of Laboratories of Razavi Khorasan Province, held by Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in July 2026, and became acquainted with the latest issues and approaches in the field of the National Laboratory Network.
The gathering was attended by Dr. Younesian, President of the National Laboratory Network, and Mr. Nasab, Secretary of the National Laboratory Network, and a number of laboratory managers and experts from across the province. During the event, topics including the expansion of inter-laboratory cooperation, the enhancement of technical standards, and the strengthening of the provincial laboratory network were discussed.
In his remarks, Dr. Younesian provided a brief introduction to the National Laboratory Network and the activities of the province's laboratories within the network. He emphasized the need for greater synergy among the members of the specialized working groups and called for closer interaction among laboratories in pursuit of the shared objectives of the National Laboratory Network.
He described such synergy as an effective factor in improving the quality of laboratory services and accelerating the implementation of joint projects.
On the sidelines of the gathering, meetings were also held to advance common objectives and exchange views with other members of the National Laboratory Network. During these meetings, the issues and challenges facing laboratories were discussed, and ways to enhance cooperation with other laboratories across the province were examined.
During discussions with the officials of the National Laboratory Network, the Director of the RIFST's Central Laboratory presented the laboratory's technical capabilities and capacities and emphasized the readiness of the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology to further expand its cooperation with the provincial and national laboratory networks.
The holding of such gatherings provides a valuable opportunity for exchanging experiences, strengthening technical synergy, and reinforcing ties among laboratories operating at the provincial and national levels. It is expected that this event will pave the way for broader scientific and technical cooperation between RIFST and the National Laboratory Network.
RIFST's Central Laboratory has been collaborating with the National Laboratory Network since 2019. It is currently recognized as a distinguished laboratory in the analysis of the physicochemical and microbiological characteristics of food, as well as the analysis of the rheological and textural properties of food, and is ready to cooperate with students, researchers, and scientific, research, and industrial institutions and centers.
