The Research Institute of Food Science and Technology (RIFST) has signed scientific and research memorandums of understanding with five universities in Iraq, which will pave the way for extensive scientific and research cooperation between the two countries.

Prof. Sayed Mohammad Ali Razavi, President of RIFST, said: "Based on these agreements, five universities, including Al-Bayan, Al-Qasim Al-Khadra, Mosul, Al-Farahidi, and Al-Nahrain, will cooperate in the areas of implementing joint research projects, exchanging professors and students, jointly supervising theses, holding joint online training courses, seminars, conferences, and facilitating the exchange of postgraduate students for research courses, as well as holding specialized workshops in the fields of food sciences and technology."

He added: "The goal of this cooperation is to strengthen scientific-research relations between universities in the two countries in the international arena, improve the level of knowledge and technology in both countries, and train specialized human resources in the agreed fields."

These memorandums of understanding are an important step towards expanding international scientific cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Iran and Iraq.

Referring to the importance of the areas of cooperation in these memorandums, Prof. Razavi stated: "These collaborations will not only help exchange knowledge and experiences, but will also pave the way for the establishment of effective scientific and research networks in the region. With these measures, we hope to be able to contribute to sustainable development and improve the quality of food products in Iraq, and achieve greater scientific and cultural exchange."
