The official opening ceremony of the Innovation and Technology Center for Special Foods (ITCSF) was held with the attendance of various civil and military officials, university educators, and professionals from the food industry.
This center has initiated its activities at the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology (RIFST), aiming to develop innovative technologies, enhance public health, and expedite the commercialization of knowledge-based products in the field of special foods.
At this ceremony, Prof. Seyed Mohammad Ali Razavi, President of RIFST, welcomed the guests and explained the necessity of founding such a center in the country, stating: "ITCSF has the potential to significantly contribute to resolving the nutritional issues faced by the country by establishing a connection among research, industry, and the market."
In addition, Dr. Sajid Amjadi, the head and responsible person for establishing the Center introduced the structure, objectives, operational programs, and business model of this center during his speech. He emphasized the importance of innovation and collaboration with the private sector in the advancement of technologies related to special foods.
Dr. Amjadi, while outlining the development roadmap and future initiatives of the center, remarked: "In this center, our aim is to convert technological concepts into marketable products, with a particular emphasis on functional foods that are health and diet-oriented."
"Our mission is to contribute to the food value chain with an innovative approach." On the sidelines of this event, the center's development roadmap, innovation ecosystem structure, and operational model for collaboration with industry and academia were unveiled.
