With the intent to expand international scientific and educational cooperation, the president and faculty members of Al-Ayen University, Iraq, visited the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology to examine the Institute's scientific and research capacities. This meeting was held in order to expand scientific and educational cooperation between the two centers and provide an opportunity to exchange information and promote scientific relations.

At the beginning of this visit, Dr. Behrouz Ghorani, Director of the Institute's International Scientific Cooperation Office, presented a report and introduced the history, goals, mission, and existing capacities of RIFST.

Prof. Seyed Mohammad Ali Razavi, President of the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology, while welcoming the delegation from Al Ayen University, pointed out the advanced research facilities, specialized laboratories, and research activities of the Institute, and emphasized that these capacities can contribute significantly to strengthening scientific and research cooperation between the two centers.

Prof. Shafiq, President of Al Ayen University, expressed his satisfaction with this visit and believed that RIFST's capabilities are admirable.

He also expressed hope that these scientific communications could lead to the exchange of experiences and knowledge between scientists and researchers on both sides and provide a suitable environment for joint research projects.

Following the meeting, faculty members from the two centers discussed and exchanged views on cooperation opportunities and reached important agreements.

Among these decisions was providing consulting services by RIFST for the establishment and of  a central laboratory at Al Ayen University.

This initiative can contribute to scientific advances in both centers as a joint research platform.

Other items agreed upon at the meeting included the establishment of a joint scientific journal and holding scientific events and conferences between the two institutions.

These conferences can serve as a great opportunity for presenting research findings, and exchanging ideas between students and professors from the two centers.

At the end of the visit, Prof. Razavi and Prof. Shafiq emphasized the importance of continuing this collaboration and prompt implementation of the agreed items.
