The 8th Asia-Pacific Probiotic Symposium was chaired by Asia Pacific Institute of Food Professionals (APIFP) and co-chaired by the Research Institute Of Food Science and Technology (RIFST).
International Scientific Cooperation at RIFST cooperated with APIFP to realize the events in which experts and students from Australia, New Zealand and several other Asian countries participated.

The 8th Asia-Pacific Symposium on Probiotics was organized and held by the Asia-Pacific Institute of Food Professionals (APIFP), in collaboration with RIFST’s International Scientific Cooperation Office on December 6th , 2021. 
The symposium enjoyed  the collaboration of Jinan University of China, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Department of Food Technology at Chulalangkorn University in Thailand, Punjab Central University in  Pakistan, and the Research Institute  of  Food Science and Technology (RIFST), with the support of the  Iranian Society of Probiotics and Functional Foods. The event was held virtually with more than 120 experts in this field attending.
This one-day symposium hosted eight speakers from universities and academic centers  of Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Greece, Egypt, Iran and Thailand presenting their latest scientific achievements on probiotics with focus on safety features and antimicrobial activities. A number of students and other researchers also demonstrated their research results as posters.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Marzieh Hosseininejad from RIFST co-chaired the event and Dr. Hamid Ahanchian from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences presented his speech entitled “Antiviral Activities of Probiotic Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium “as a scientific speaker of the event.
