Prof. Glyn O. Phillips, the father of Hydrocolloids and the founder of the Journal of Food Hydrocolloids has recently passed away. An internationally recognized scientist, Prof. Phillips served as the Chairman of the 1st International Conference on Food Hydrocolloids organized by the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology (RIFST) in 2014 and subsequently an honorary member of the academic staff at RIFST’s Department of Food Nanotechnology. 
We, at RIFST, are truly sorry to hear the loss of Professor Philips, longing that our prayers may help his family to comfort and hasten the journey of his soul to Heaven. Once more, we express our most heartfelt condolences to the esteemed family of Science.
