A ceremony to honor Prof. Seyed Ali Mortazavi, Professor of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and Chairman of the Conference on Applied Research in Food Security, Food Safety and Health, was held on Monday evening, May 29 2023, while having the presence of a group of professors, industrial owners, students and experts in the field of food science and technology and related fields at Ferdowsi University. In this ceremony, Dr. Ahad Zabet, chancellor of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Abbas Ebrahimi, Deputy Leader of the National Elite Foundation, Dr. Manouchehr Vosooghi, Professor of Sharif University , Dr. Fakhri Shahidi, Senior Professor of the Department of Food Science and Technology of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Dr. Azhdari, The CEO of Torbat Haydaria Sugar Factory, Dr. Ali Haerian, a member of the Central Council of Honorable Works and Documents of the University, as well as several other university officials and friends of the professor, gave speeches about Prof. Mortazavi's scientific and moral qualities.
With nearly four decades of cooperation since its establishment, the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology has recorded the longest history of benefiting from the knowledge and experiences of Prof. Mortazavi who was formerly the head of the Scientific and Industrial Research Organization of Khorasan. In the following years, he was a member of the executive board of this organization and the scientific committee of the agriculture and food industry group, either as a senior consultant or as an associate member.
With the continuation of the organizational evolution and independence of the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology, his companionship has been manifested step by step in the best and most fruitful way possible. In this way, accepting the responsibility of chairing the Conference of Applied Research in Food Security, Food Safety and Health and his valuable role in advancing the goals of this national gathering, arranged to be held in the holy city of Mashhad, that coincides with World Food Day is another part of the honors of this research Institute.
