1. A Nation in Mourning, a Renewed Call for Unity and Progress

This year, we enter the New Year while the Iranian nation is still grieving the loss of our revolutionary leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, who fell victim to a military attack by American and Zionist forces on our homeland. During his leadership, we witnessed monumental strides toward self-sufficiency across various sectors, with a strong emphasis on supporting domestic production as the path out of economic challenges and foreign dependency.

Now, in his absence, we renew our covenant with our new leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei. In recent events, we have also lost many of our compatriots. Many of our people enter this new year clothed in mourning for their loved ones, and we share in this grief, expressing our deepest sympathies to all those who have suffered loss.

As the spring of nature coincides with the spring of the Quran, it is incumbent upon us to honor the memory of all our nation’s exalted martyrs and, through empathy, solidarity, and a renewed vision for progress, strive for the elevation of our beloved Iran.

The Research Institute of Food Science and Technology, as in past years, will redouble its efforts in line with its national mission: "Food security and safety, centered on processing and creating value-added based on knowledge and technology." In the current circumstances, our country urgently requires effective and efficient research to rebuild and reconstruct, a task that multiplies our responsibilities across all sectors.

It is worth noting that our dear leader, in this year’s slogan for 1405, has called us to greater effort by emphasizing a resistance economy in the shadow of national unity and national security. Let us all, with determination and cooperation, step toward a brighter future and work harder to achieve the lofty goals of our beloved country.

In closing, I extend my warmest congratulations to the esteemed members of the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology on the occasion of the ancient New Year (Nowruz) and the blessed holiday of Eid al-Fitr, wishing you all success, health, and prosperity.

Dr. Seyyed Mohammad Ali Razavi

President, Research Institute of Food Science and Technology
