1. RIFST’s President and several academic staff among world's top 2% Scientists

The scientific brilliance of the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology (RIFST) at the global level, with the selection of Prof. Seyed Mohammad Ali Razavi, the Institute's President, as well as Dr. Asma Verdian and Dr. Sajed Amjadi, Dr. Khashayar Sarabandi, in the prestigious list of the top two percent of scientists in the world, once again solidified the research position of this institute in the international arena.

Stanford University, in collaboration with Elsevier Publishing, has released the annual list of the top two percent of world scientists in 2025, which includes several of RIFST's prominent researchers; a great honor for Iran's scientific community and this Institute.

The ranking is based on valid scientific indicators, including the number of published papers, the number of citations, the h-index, and the impact of research in specialized fields. This year’s report uses citations received in 2024 as the basis for the assessment, which reflects the current impact and ability of researchers to produce novel knowledge. The indicators used are designed to provide an accurate picture of each researcher’s true scientific impact by taking into account self-citation, the ratio of citations to citing papers, and information on retracted papers (based on the Retraction Watch database). The researcher’s share of co-authorship and position in the papers (single author, first or last author) are also taken into account.
