RIFST’s President announced the success of the central laboratory of this institute in obtaining ISO / IEC 17025 certification from the National Accreditation Center of Iran (NACI) in compliance with the principles of quality management.
Dr. Ghadir Rajabzadeh added: "ISO 17025 standard determines the general requirements for the quality and qualification of test and calibration laboratories and is the most important proof of the accuracy of laboratory test results in the country." He stated “Laboratory management system, documents control, laboratory environment, test and calibration methods and validation of methods, service and maintenance of equipment, traceability of measurements and quality control programs of results etc. are the technical laboratory requirements to receive this certification.”
He also stated that the evaluation of quality and technical requirements has been done based on the laboratory's executive methods along with examining environmental conditions, documents and records. Dr. Rajabzadeh added "This laboratory, certified by Iran National Standards Organization and assigned to provide services to food producers, after inspections by experts of the National Center for Accreditation of Iran, succeeded in obtaining certification and establishing and implementing the requirements of ISO 17025, thanks to unremitting efforts of RIFST's managers and experts.”
Rajabzadeh said: "Since quality is an ongoing process, we hope that by using the capabilities and potentials available in the laboratories of this institute, we will be able to take an effective step to provide better services to producers, researchers and students."
He also pointed out the strategic importance of saffron product for the country and said: "Considering the fact that RIFST's central laboratory is a reference to confirm the quality of saffron and in view of international scientific activities of the Institute, obtaining this certificate can contribute to the citation of the test results at the global level.
