  2. Inauguration of the First Innovation and Technology Center for Special Foods

The first innovation and technology center for special foods in Iran was unveiled with the aim of creating infrastructure and accelerating technological projects in the food industry.

Prof. Razavi, the President of the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology explained the goals of this center and said “"With the aim of strengthening production, improving food security, and promoting the use of new technologies in special foods industries, this center strives to play an important role in the localization of advanced technologies and, as a result, the country's independence and authority in the international scale."

He also referred to the RIFST's long-term policies and said: "One of these policies is the development of the value chain of specific food products, which supports research and development (R&D) in this field with the aim of improving productivity and production processes."

These policies help create integration in different strategies and facilitate the process of achieving the Institute's goals. The President of the Research Institute of Food Science and Technology concluded by saying: "The policies of this center are of great importance, especially in areas of international cooperation, encouraging private sector investments, and developing new markets for specific food products."

In addition, applying knowledge and transforming science into technology and providing services to knowledge-based companies active in this field are other programs of this center. This center was launched in partnership with the ETKA Organization and the Defense Industries Research Educational Institute.
